Knowledge Bank: ingesting and searching with «o»
Ingest sources (URL, file, entity), create a Research Board, and search the Knowledge Bank through «o».
The Knowledge Bank is your sovereign knowledge base: everything you ingest lives in a local vault, on your machine, and «o» uses it to answer you with grounding.
What you need before you start
- The local vault initialized (backed by an Obsidian-style folder inside your documents).
- Optional: Obsidian installed, to open the vault directly from there.
- A URL and a file on hand to ingest.
The vault header
From the Knowledge Bank header you open the vault in Obsidian, reveal it in your file explorer, or adjust its settings.
Quick actions
Quick actions are the most direct way to feed your bank. Each one dispatches an instruction to «o»: add a source, add a reflection, review the bank, ingest a project, or ingest a contact.
Add a source
«o» opens with the instruction ready: paste a URL, drop a file, or describe the source, and «o» files it for you. You can also drag files straight into «o»’s chat. The source gets chunked, indexed, and made searchable.
Create a Research Board
To dig deeper, pick a template, give it a title and topic, and turn on “deep research” if you want «o» to go further. Below you’ll see the balance bar across Planes and an index preview — the catalog of pages in your bank. A tap opens any page.
Search by asking «o»
The most powerful part of the Knowledge Bank: you don’t search with a search box, you ask «o». The Knowledge Bank is exposed as one of its tools — «o» runs the search and answers citing its sources. Every answer carries citation chips, so you can verify where it came from: knowledge with traceability.
You’re not the only one feeding the bank: your Synthetics can also ingest their own results automatically, leaving their work available for future queries.
